Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
What does ADHD mean and what are its symptoms? Though most of its symptoms are behavioral and not physical, they are visible and can easily be recognized. For one, it is difficult to give instructions to a kid with ADHD. Another indication of ADHD is if a child has difficulty establishing eye contact and his actions are in random--- he immediately stops doing one thing to do another. Oftentimes, when you ask a child with ADHD to listen, he will ignore you and will keep on doing what he wants. An ADHD kid is also easily distracted and has difficulty controlling his emotions. What are the causes and risk factors of ADHD? Medical experts also said that there is a great possibility that ADHD is due to the abnormalities of the brain's neurons. As for the reasons to why and how these impulses of neurons are atypical apparently remain to be hypothetical. Although no specific risk factors are identified, the parents' negligence to immediately identify their son's or daughter’s behavioral illness can aggravate the situation. The later they identify the problem, the more difficult the child may adopt to the learning and development process. How can this behavioral illness be treated? ADHD kids are still capable of learning and their skills can still be developed. However, unlike other normal children, they need other methods and extra reinforcements to help them absorb what they need to learn. Likewise, the family members and the doctors of the patients should also work hand in hand to ensure that the kids grow healthy notwithstanding ADHD. There might really be no cure yet, but children may still live normally if the optimum progress they can reach is achieved. How can ADHD be prevented? | |||
