Medifast Diet

The Medifast diet is a weight loss program that centers on the concept of a low-calorie diet. This means that the dieter should take a close look at the amount of calories he takes in by undergoing a program that will monitor the apportioning of the foods for each meal.

This diet program has for its initial plan a comprehensive eating habit that is actually set for a long-term eating lifestyle, meaning that the dieter must follow it by heart for a very long period until, eventually, the program becomes a part of his everyday activities. This program is composed of six healthy meals that should be taken everyday. Five of these meals are commonly composed of soup, eggs, shake, pudding, and other foods recommended by and prepared according to Medifast's conceptualization of an effective weight loss plan. Meanwhile, it also encourages the dieter to take one meal per day, which is composed of salad or vegetable and lean meat.

Medifast recommends that the meals be taken with an interval of two to three hours. This, according to the program, keeps the dieter from having hunger pangs. On the other hand, when the dieter has already reached their target weight, they can start consuming the foods they have abstained from, in accordance to the Medifast plan, so they can still manage to maintain the weight they have worked hard for.

In a closer look, Medifast aims for a long-term diet plan.  This it encourages by integrating in the dieter's lifestyle various learning processes, which focus on self-study, healthy food habits, and exercise until the dieter hits the target correct level or standard for all the aforementioned aspects.

As for the foods included in the Medifast program, they are guaranteed low-calorie and great-tasting at the same time. These characteristics are believed to encourage the dieter to take the weight loss program seriously as the meals they are required to eat are delicious enough for there taste buds, which apparently are set to undergo a rather different-tasting type of food. The result of these low-calorie meals (which is also supported by protein-rich foods) is a remarkable and consistent weight loss activity. But this can only come about if the meal plan is supported by sufficient physical activities that will help burn the calories, while strengthening the muscles, which are made such by complex carbohydrates, and of course, protein. In actuality, if the program is to be done wholeheartedly, the dieter may lose at least five pounds within seven days.

However, Medifast also encourages the dieter to have some food supplements whenever necessary, as these may keep the dieter from becoming hungry before mealtime. These supplements, like the meals, are safe even for persons with high blood pressure, diabetes-, and obesity- related problems provided medical protocols are maintained. On the other hand, Medifast also believes that these supplements can actually help the dieters whose main goal is to achieve a very significant (almost drastic) weight loss process. As such, some of these supplements are actually appetite suppressants that will enable the dieter to lose some 15 pounds. Other supplements specially formulated for diabetics or women at menopausal transition or for those afflicted with pain and disease and cannot put in as much physical activity as a normal person could.
